I’m Rachel Valente (call me Rach!), and I’m a 22 year old, LA-residing recent college graduate and newlywed. As the world currently spins on an unusual axis of COVID-19 and anxiety, I’m finding there’s still so much room to grow, even when I’m stuck at home.
But why am I here?
After years of writing in a handful of different blogs, I’m a little tired of feeling like there isn’t a place to truly call home. I’ve tried my hand at writing “whenever I felt like it”, but can you really call yourself a blogger if you do that? (really, someone please tell me). My old blog has become more like a sophisticated journal that has more drafts than published posts. It feels like there isn’t space over there anymore to reflect who I’m becoming –– just who I’ve already become.
I need a place to call home. I’m hoping this is it.
A place to write freely about things I’m working on, foods I’m eating, and the impatience I’m feeling through the never-ending process of styling a home. A place not for perfection –– just progress.
You’re invited to join me on this new journey that I’m beginning. If you’re looking for a girl who has it altogether –– this ain’t it. But if you’re ready to see the real, the raw, the low-income (but ambitious), and the love for the simple things in life, you’re in the right place.
I’m here to share my adventures as I decorate our first apartment on a budget (and at a snail-like pace cause money), spend the first months of our marriage in quarantine, and learn new skills for hacking DIYs, recipes, style, and much more.
Want to join? I’d love for you to stick around! I’m happy you’re here and hope you’ll stay for the rest of the journey.
