Sometimes we look at mouth-watering cheeseboard spreads and think we could never achieve something like that. But I’ve got great news for ya, friend! If you have 10 minutes, a few simple ingredients, and a little bit of patience, you can make an easy board in no time.

1. Add some fruit to get your cheeseboard started.

Fresh fruit adds great texture and taste to any spread. I love using an array of grapes and strawberries to make some color pop off the board. Starting with the fruit allows you to work off of the natural elongated shape and colors of the fruit.

2. Now, add some crackers.

Spread the crackers on the cheeseboard in a curved or wavy pattern. This helps add some interest to the spread and also maximizes the space in between the fruit you already laid down.

3. Slice up your favorite cheese.

I slice up some of this Unexpected Cheddar Cheese from Trader Joe’s (one of their best-sellers) and crumble it onto the cheeseboard. My husband also loves their Gouda, so I usually cut a slice of it and lay it down sideways.

Other great cheeses for spreads like these are Brie (if you like that creamy, melty texture) or goat cheese.

4. Spice up your cheeseboard with some meats.

Some prosciutto and salami are perfect, simple meats for a cheeseboard. I fold the salami over itself twice and then tuck it under the meat and cheese for a nice ribboning effect. I tear the prosciutto into a few portioned pieces and crumple it delicately to give that effortless, textured style.

Then, complete by filling in the last gaps with nuts or salty/chocolately components. My go-tos are salted almonds or chocolate-covered pretzels.

You’ll strike the right aesthetic and tasty balance on your cheeseboard if you space out elements and coordinate colors and textures.

A simple, easy cheeseboard, and plated in under 10 minutes! Pour a glass of your favorite wine and enjoy!
